Car Insurance Tips

Pass Plus
Designed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), the pass plus is the ideal course to enhance driving skills and road awareness. As it's done within 12 months of successfully passing the driving test the majority who follow up with this course are normally young drivers, the very ones who find car insurance so expensive. But by taking the Pass Plus, any inexperience on the road is quickly resolved with the help of professional instructors guiding the student through various assessment modules. For young drivers, the experience gained from completing the Pass Plus course will ensure they receive more favourable quotes from car insurance companies. Young drivers could be looking to save in the region of 30% on their first policy just by completing this course. However, when applying for a car insurance quote it's always wise to let the insurer know if you have completed the Pass Plus, as often they will leave declarations like this up to you. You can learn more about the Pass Plus here.

Get a Variety of Insurance Quotes
Apply for as many insurance quotes as your time will allow. Many people consider three as a satisfactory number, but it's logical that the more you get the easier it is in spotting the best deals, and getting as many as seven will give you the best chance of finding the cheapest quote. Remember to compare all insurance quotes on a like-for-like basis though, as even the most expensive one might appear considerably cheaper if all the extras are taken into account. You might find one insurance policy comes with breakdown cover as standard, while another it may have to be bought seperately, and by paying extra it could make the cheaper insurance roughly the same as the more expensive one.

Parking
Reduce the risk of theft by parking your vehicle off-road. Garages and driveways are a big deterrent to thieves, so if you are able to park your car safely in either of these then it's always advisable to do so. This alone can save you 5% on your car insurance. However, don't be tempted to say your car is garaged overnight if it isn't. Tempting as it may be to try and reduce your insurance costs it is also classed as false information, and supplying false information can invalidate your whole car insurance policy.

Choice of Car
Choose your car wisely. If you're looking to cut down on car insurance costs bear in mind that the make of car, the engine size, its age and value are all used in calculating insurance quotes. Cars with small engines and no modifications, which also have cheap and easily accessible spare parts, are an ideal choice if you want to keep insurance premiums to a minimum. But also consider the car's insurance group rating as well. All vehicles in the UK are assigned a group rating number between 1 and 20, and by choosing a car with a lower number will significantly reduce the overall cost of your car insurance. You can learn more about the car insurance rating system here.

New Car Buying Tips: Insurance

Many car dealers offer insurance policy as part of the deal when you are buying new car. It can be offered as bonus or as optional purchase. Of course, you can also find an insurance plan for the car yourself. If you are on the lookout for a new car to buy and you want to have the best car insurance with the deal, here are several tips related to insurance for new cars you can use right away.

Consider buying insurance-friendly cars if you want to save money on your car’s insurance policy. Instead of getting large SUVs or cars with a lot of horsepower, you can simply opt for economical cars with good engine performance yet moderate horsepower. You will be surprised to know just how much you can save on car insurance when you buy insurance-friendly vehicles.

You shouldn’t settle for the insurance plan offered by the car dealership right away. Instead, do a bit of research yourself and discover the best possible insurance deal for your car. Unless the insurance policy offered by the car dealership is beneficial for you, you should always opt to get the insurance policy yourself from quality insurance company.

Another thing you may also want to consider before buying insurance for your new car is adding security devices. You can even ask the dealership to install car alarms and added security devices as purchase bonuses. With proper security measures installed, your car insurance premium will certainly be a lot cheaper than you can imagine.

Other than the basics we’ve mentioned earlier, car insurance for your new car can simply be obtained along with the purchase. You can even get the insurance coverage as a bonus, especially when you are using auto finance to pay for your new car purchase. If you do use auto financing options, make sure you consider purchasing a separate GAP insurance for your car as well. The GAP insurance policy will help cover possible costs and losses should your car is damaged within the first two or three months from the purchase, allowing you to avoid financial hazards easily.

Four Ways to Lower Your Auto Insurance

With the rising costs in expenses, especially through insurance expenses like auto insurance, many consumers are seeking methods that can be used to reduce the overall costs of their auto insurance premiums to make the most of the prices which are paid on an annual or monthly basis for auto insurance coverage. Makingcar insurance comparisons is an effective way to find the lowest car insurance premiums.

Here are some other methods that every consumer can use to lower their auto insurance premiums:

1. Keep the driving record clean. While keeping the driving record clean, individuals can ensure that they are able to maintain the best rates possible. Accidents and tickets, as well as other incidents increase the risk profile that is associated with the consumer and therefore increases the potential for the consumer to take advantage of auto insurance claims. With the decreased risks come decreased rate which are charged to the consumer – a simple and effective way to not only lower the auto insurance premiums, but to stay safe while driving.

2. Enroll in a defensive driving course. Studies have shown that drivers that have completed defensive driving as well as other types of courses are effective drivers and come with a reduced risk to the insurance company. These courses can lower the auto insurance rates by upwards of fifteen percent throughout the premiums.

3. Bundle your insurance services to receive the best deals on auto insurance. Consumers that bundle home insurance, auto insurance and even life insurance can save upwards of fifteen percent from the entire costs of all insurance premiums which are paid on an annual or on a monthly basis. As these consumers are considered loyal to one company, these discounts are often referred to as loyalty discounts and can be used to save money for each of the premiums that are held with the insurance company. Look for a versatile insurance company that offers multiple policy types in order to take advantage of services like these.

4. Look for an auto insurance company that is willing to match competitive rates from other companies. This is an effective way to ensure that you are saving the most for your auto insurance. Through programs that offer to price match and even give better prices than the competitor, you can be sure that you are saving as much as possible with your auto insurance.

Taking these aspects into account while preparing to change car insurance policies or shop for new cheap auto insurance policies can be an effective way to gain the best rates and ensure that you are paying an appropriate rate for your auto insurance.

Porshe High Class

Porsche’s new president and CEO, Michael Macht, anounced that the company is considering an electric-powered sports car that would meet the high demands of the Porsche brand. “I am also convinced that one day Porsche will have an electric sports car in its line-up,” said Macht at the company’s press conference.

“An electric sports car would therefore only make sense for Porsche if it offers performance and a cruising range similar to that of current sports cars in the market,” he said. “We are therefore taking the first step in this direction with a full hybrid – in the Cayenne, the Panamera and maybe in the not too distant future also in a racing car or a production 911. Why not?”

The highly anticipated Panamera represents Porsche’s fourth model line and is the brand’s first-ever four-door sports car. It goes on sale in the U.S. on October 17, 2009. “Although the car has only been at the dealership for three days, we already have 4,500 orders for the Panamera, most of them from customers who have not even seen the car yet,” he said Macht. “And since test drives for customers have only just started, sales of the Panamera are already making a very positive start.”
